Clear Lake City is a neighborhood of Houston, TX.  Humble (Exxon) purchased the West Ranch in 1938.  Part of the site became the Manned Space Craft Center later changed to Johnson Space Center.
 
In the early 1960's Humble began developing the area residentially and commercially which came to be know as Clear Lake City.  The area was annexed by Houston in 1977 and continues to flourish.
 
The area is home to many space related industries which support NASA.  Recreation opportunities abound in the area with many parks and Clear Lake.
